
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A line of early morning thunderstorms between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Friday brought severe weather to Clarksville, Woodbury, Antioch, Murfreesboro and parts of Maury County.
Thousands of Nashville Electric Service customers who lost power during the storm now have their service restored.
Clarksville had wind gusts of 52 mph, according to forecasters.
In Maury County, emergency dispatchers reported storm damage on Valley Creek and South Cross Bridges Roads.
The storm brought 60 to 70 mph winds to Maury County. Damage in the Culleoka area included downed trees, siding blown off homes and roof damage.
The roof was reportedly blown off a church in the Cannon County community of Woodbury.
Power outages were reported in Antioch and Murfreesboro and traffic lights along Murfreesboro Road between Antioch and Mufreesboro malfunctioned during the early morning hours.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for counties in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
The thunderstorm watch was discontinued for most areas by 7:00 a.m.
Heavy rainfall brought hazardous driving conditions Friday morning to area interstates and roads, leading to an accident involving a semi tractor trailer on I-40 eastbound & I-840 eastbound in Dickson County.
Heavy winds toppled a utility pole on State Road 43 at the Lawrence/Maury county line.
Roads throughout the Woodbury community were reported to be flooded due to heavy rainfall.
