(AP) NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Storms have moved across much of northern Tennessee, toppling trees and causing multiple tornado warnings. No serious injuries were immediately reported.

Fire officials in Jamestown reported seeing a tornado on the ground Friday afternoon. Residents in Scott County also reported seeing a tornado, where the National Weather Service said four houses were damaged.

Some Jamestown-area residents said they received baseball-sized hail. Lightning hit the Fentress County 911 center, forcing officials to use backup power.

At Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, the graduation ceremony was interrupted for about 10 minutes by a tornado warning.

Many of the attendees and 400 graduates moved into a hallway at the Dunn Center.

More storms approached the state from Arkansas on Friday evening.
