Ron Killings
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A former Rutherford County Sheriff's Detective charged in connection with a crash that killed an 11-year-old girl will go on trial this fall.
Attorneys for Ron Killings appeared in court on Monday. Killings was the former detective accused of hitting and killing Lakeisha White last year on Bradyville Pike.
Witnesses said Killings was speeding and after the accident tried to dispose of two liquor bottles.
Killings is charged with criminally negligent homicide, tampering with evidence, and making false statements.
He was expected to go on trial on October 13 and pre-trial motions were set for August 21.
The former detective has been free on bond since the incident.
