New Newspaper In Nashville Features Old News

Posted:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - In Nashville a new paper is in business, but it is slightly dated. The paper features old articles and photos reprinted from papers of long ago.

Allen Forkum came up with the idea of the newspaper called The Nashville Retrospect. He hoped the paper will bring history to life.

"Well we wanted to target older Nashvillians - 40 and up," said Forkum. "You have things that resonate with today, but that are so different than today. They're interesting."

Some of the articles came from the Microfilm archives at the Nashville Public Library. Beth Odle is with the Library's Nashville Banner Archive area.

"I think it's very important and by putting it in newspaper it's accessible to lots of different people. That kind of gets an excitement about what is history," said Odle.

The Nashville Retrospect is free to the public. Publishing costs are paid for by advertisers.
