Judge Rules Killings Gets Hamilton County Jury

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A Hamilton County jury will be brought in to hear the trial for former Rutherford County Sheriff's Detective Ron Killings.

Killings' attorneys asked for a jury from another county because of extensive media coverage of the case.

The jurors will be selected on Oct. 13 and be sequestered throughout the entire trial.

Killings was charged with reckless homicide in the death of 11-year-old Lakeisha White. Killings hit White as she crossed Bradyville Pike in Murfreesboro in July.

Last week, the same judge ruled that the jury would not hear about liquor bottles recovered after the crash.
