Jury Selection Continues For Man Police Call Wooded Rapist

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police said Jason Burdick is a serial rapist who attacked more than a dozen women in their homes, over several years. He already has been convicted once, and this is his second trial

This time the victim is an attorney who bit her attacker.

"I hope he never sees the light of day. He is a career criminal. He is a serial rapist in my opinion, and I hope he's dealt with accordingly," said rape victim Patricia Young in April 2008.

In 1994, Young was 38-years-old and living alone in a house on Franklin Road. She said someone broke into her home during the night and violently attacked her, but she fought back.

"That was my best measure of defense was biting and I bit," said Young.

She said she bit a chunk of flesh out of the man and stuffed it under her bed hoping she could help police find him. That man police say is Jason Burdick.

Prosecutors said they've got DNA and finger print evidence to prove Burdick attacked and raped Young.

Earlier this year in an exclusive interview with NewsChannel 5, Burdick denied being the Wooded Rapist.

"No - no way. Everybody who's ever loved me or known me know absolutely that I'm not a rapist or never have been or never will be," said Burdick in April of 2009.

Burdick is already a convicted man. In April it took a jury less than three hours to find him guilty of raping a 62-year-old woman. He kept his emotion in check, but outside the courtroom his father let it out.

Young witnessed the verdict knowing her time for justice might be soon.

"I am thrilled for Middle Tennessee that he's off the streets, and I know this lady will sleep better tonight," said Young in April of 2009.

Burdick is currently serving a 32 year sentence for his first conviction of aggravated rape. He will not be up for parole until he's 71-years-old.
