NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country star Chris Young was one of many performers taking stages at venues all across Music City on Monday night. Young performed on perhaps the most famous stage of them all, the Ryman Auditorium.
The IEBA Honors featured special guest Brenda Lee, who introduced another rock 'n roll legend.
"50 years ago, Chubby Checker recorded "The Twist," changing the history of music and establishing himself as rock 'n roll royalty," said Lee.
Checker took the stage by storm, performing his biggest hit.
Just a few blocks away, a slower pace at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center with some guitar picking and reminiscing.
The Third Annual Induction Ceremony for the Musicians Hall of Fame honored some big names in music including the legendary Chet Atkins.
"It was always of dream of my father's to do something special just for the musicians in Nashville," said Chet Atkins' daughter Merle Atkins Russell. "I'm so proud of my father for being in, finally, the Hall of Fame."
Country star Charlie Daniels was humbled by his induction.
"It's such a great thing to be recognized as a musician. I've always considered myself to be an entertainer. I know for a fact I'm the worst musician in my band," said Daniels.
There is a big concert in downtown Music City Tuesday night with some major country music stars. Keith Urban is headlining a fundraising concert at the Sommet Center. Several other artists like Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley and Vince Gill will also join him.
All the proceeds will benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame.
