
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The woman accused of kidnapping a newborn baby after stabbing his mother has been scheduled for federal court Tuesday afternoon.
Tammy Silas, 39, has been scheduled for a detention and preliminary hearing Tuesday.

Police said Silas stabbed Maria Gurrolla at her South Nashville home on Sept. 29 and then stole her 4-day-old baby Yair Carillo.

Silas was arrested four days later in Ardmore, Ala., and police brought her back to Nashville to face federal kidnapping charges.
Silas faces life in prison if convicted.
