Warning For ATM Users About Skimming Device

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro investigators said a ring of high-tech ATM thieves are operating in our area.

Investigators said the scammers ripped off nearly $30,000 from victims this past weekend alone.

"What we have found is someone has placed a skimming device on the ATM machines at banks and captured the data from each victims' card meaning their account numbers, their pin numbers and so forth," said Lt. Mickey Garner, Metro police.

Investigators are not sure if these guys are still in the area. The investigation so far indicates the men could be foreign-born and possibly from Romania or Bulgaria.
