Child Killed in Hit and Run

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A 3-year-old child is dead after being ejected from his own mother's car.

This two-car collision happened around 1:30 Saturday afternoon on Brick Church Pike near Ewing Drive. Witnesses said they saw a Lexus speeding down Brick Church when it crossed the center median, and spun sideways into the side of an oncoming car.

When the two cars collided, the child in the backseat was tossed out of a side window.  That child was fastened into a carseat.

The male driver of the Lexus fled from the scene, but he was followed and cornered by witnesses and ultimately caught by police.
