
COLUMBIA, Tenn. - It's Election Day in Columbia, and people will be heading to the polls to pick their new mayor and vice-mayor.
The election will determine who will replace outgoing Mayor Bill Gentner and determine who will serve as vice-mayor.
Council members Dean Dickey, Debbie Matthews and Sue Stephenson; Columbia businessman Jerry Hodges and Maury County Sheriff's Deputy Tony Greene have all put their hat in the running for mayor.
Current Vice Mayor Wayne Kennedy will be defending his seat against three challengers: Councilwoman Christa Martin, former Councilman Jim Powell and former County Commissioner Eddie Oden.
Polls open at 7 a.m.
