NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police have a suspect in custody in the stabbing of a woman outside of the Target on White Bridge Road.

Someone called in a tip to Crime Stoppers which led police to Timothy Kelly, Jr. for the Target attack. Police found the 23-year-old already in jail.

Just last Sunday, a Metro police officer arrested him for holding up a man who was sitting in his car on Thompson Lane.

"Just today a Crime Stoppers tip resulted in the arrest warrants being filed on the man we believe who stabbed a woman in the Target parking lot last week on White Bridge Road," said Metro police chief Ronal Serpas.

Kelly is also charged with robbery for snatching a woman's purse outside of a Wal-Mart store on Charlotte Pike on October 25.

In 2002, when Kelly was 16-years-old, an aggravated assault conviction in Bledsoe County sent him to Brushy Mountain prison for four years.

In 2008, police said Kelly robbed an 84-year-old man outside his home in Nashville. He served a year behind bars before being released on probation.

A conviction for domestic assault 6 months later sent him back to jail. He was released in April of this year.
