UPDATE: Fort Campbell Soldier Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide

OAK GROVE, Ky. - Officials have released the name of the man who shot and killed his military wife and then himself.

Investigators believe Jason Thom, 29, used a semi-automatic pistol to kill his wife then turned the weapon on himself.

Police believe Ariana Thom, 25, was shot while their 4 and 6 year old sons were in the other room.

Around 2 p.m. Friday, investigators said a female Fort Campbell soldier was shot and killed by her husband at their home on Gale Street in Oak Grove, Kentucky.

Officials said he then called for an ambulance, and then shot and killed himself.

Police said two young boys, ages 4 years old and 6 years old, were home at the time. Investigators said the children will likely be turned over to family members.

The husband was not in the military. Police said the couple had a history of domestic violence.
