Four Firefighters Injured In Donelson Blaze

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Six firefighters were injured while working a house fire in Donelson Thursday.

Three firefighters fell through the floor when working the fire at 3212 Dinah Court around 7:30 a.m.

Emergency crews transported the three firefighters to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. One other was also taken to Vanderbilt.

Captain Jimmy Ray Greenwood is non-critical condition, but will stay overnight for burns and smoke inhalation. Captain Michael Sisk was expected to be released with an abdominal and leg injury. Firefighter-paramedic Christina Byers is in stable condition with smoke inhalation, and firefighter Christopher Mullican is non-critical condition for smoke inhalation.

Two firefighters, Captain Michael Meeks and firefighter-paramedic Brian Moat, were treated and released at Summit Medical Center.

When firefighters arrived to the house fire, flames and heavy smoke were visible. Homeowner, Barry Wilson, said he made it out safely because of a working smoke detector, but his black lab died in the fire.

Officials said the house was a complete loss, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
