PORTLAND, Tenn. - Witnesses reported hearing an explosion, and then moments later they saw flames and two people running from the house on fire.
It happened in Portland along Hillcreek Court.
Fire investigators said it appeared the two victims were working on a vehicle in the garage when something went wrong.
A neighbor actually ran over with a hose and sprayed off their clothes. Both victims were flown to Vanderbilt's burn unit.
The garage is destroyed, but firefighters were able to save most of the home.
