picture courtesy of www.sbc.netNASHVILLE, Tenn. - Southern Baptist Convention President, Johnny Hunt, announced that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
In a statement released through the Baptist Press, Hunt said he will undergo initial treatment in January.
The 57-year-old believes the cancer was detected early.
Hunt was elected SBC president at the convention's June 2008 annual meeting in Indianapolis, Ind., and he was re-elected at the 2009 meeting in Louisville, Ky.
