
Hakeem Nadhir Abdur Raqeeb
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Perry Dale III was killed in a crash on Charlotte Pike earlier this week, and Hakeem Nadhir Abdur Raqeeb has been charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication.
Police said Raqeeb swerved into Dale's car, forcing him off the road into a utility pole and some trees. Perry died at the hospital.
Officers said Raqeeb left the scene, but witnesses were able to provide a vehicle description and a tag number.
According to a press release, Raqeeb, who was formerly known as Carl Anthony Simmons, was also charged with leaving the scene of crash involving injury and driving on a suspended license.
He was being held in the Metro jail on a $177,500 bond.
