
NEW JOHNSONVILLE, Tenn. – Police were called out to investigate the death of a well-known businessman in Humphreys County Thursday.
Someone shot and killed 67-year-old Edward Lucas, owner of Lucas Construction Company.
Lucas' wife was awakened around 9 a.m. to the sound of a gunshot in New Johnsonville. Police said she found Lucas dead.
Shortly after, police arrested Clay Stewart Gregory of Indiana, formerly of Waverly County. Gregory was arrested in Waverly County, but was lodged in the Humphreys County Jail for questioning. No word on any charges.
The Humphreys County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and district attorney have all been working the case.
