Dog's Appetite Leads To Missing Wedding Ring

By Amanda Hara

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The expensive appetites of two mid-state dogs paid off in a big way for a Murfreesboro stranger who finally found his missing ring.

With his head stuffed inside a NutroMax dog food bag, it's no secret that this is Otto's favorite food.

"This is definitely their favorite, they have expensive taste of course," said owner Krista Berg.

On Monday, the expensive bag of food came with an even more expensive surprise. A man's wedding ring was stuck in the folds of the bag.

Krista started making phone calls. She first started with the pet food plant, but had no luck. The second call was to the Murfreesboro PetMart where she found the rightful owner Mike Stoddard.

The dog food buyers were able to return the ring to Mike.

"Most people would just keep it," said Mike.

Mike said he's never lost his ring before, but that his wife of 8 years has lost hers.
