Governor Bredesen Helps Candidates On Eve Of Vote

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Outgoing Governor Phil Bredesen was out helping candidates campaign on Monday.

The governor helped serve chili to supporters of Sam Coleman at the council member's campaign headquarters on Lebanon Pike.

Coleman is running for the State House seat in District 60 against fellow Metro Councilman Jim Gotto.

Governor Bredesen said the only thing on his mind going into Tuesday's election is getting good people into office.

"You've got some really good people who are in office. You've got some good people running for office and I hope people will. Voters are pretty smart. I hope when they go into the booth, they just use some discretion and really think about what it is they're trying to achieve," said Governor Bredesen.

Governor Bredesen cannot run again due to term limits.
