NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Gov. Bill Haslam's anti-methamphetamine legislation has been approved by the Senate. Lawmakers must now work out the differences in the Senate and the House versions before the legislation heads to the governor's desk.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say six women have been charged with filing more than 800 false income tax returns and claiming more than $1.3 million in refunds.
The U.S. attorney's office in Memphis says the women were indicted on a total of 41 counts of conspiracy to steal government funds, stealing government funds through the filing of false income tax returns and aggravated identity theft.
GOLDEN POND, Ky. (AP) - Grants are now available to educators interested in taking students on field trips to Land Between The Lakes, a 170,000-acre recreation area on the Kentucky-Tennessee border. The grants are available to public school districts within 100 miles of the recreation area between the Cumberland and Tennessee rivers.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Gov. Bill Haslam and first lady Crissy Haslam are hosting their 4th annual Easter Egg Roll at the Tennessee Residence. About 115 children from local day care and Head Start centers are expected to attend the event scheduled to start at 10:15 this morning.
