I-24 Shut Down in Coffee County

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Thursday afternoon that the entire eastbound lane of Interstate 24 is shut down at mile marker 110 in Manchester.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted off the interstate at exit 110 and immediately back on the interstate to get around a tractor trailer rig that overturned directly under the overpass at 1:10 p.m.

The THP office in Chattanooga estimates traffic could continue to be affected on the interstate in Coffee County during rush hour.

THP said westbound traffic is also affected with rubbernecking delays.

Motorists should expect delays for several hours as crews work to clean-up black-eyed peas on the interstate being carried by the rig.
