School Board Moving Forward With Bible Class

LEBANON - The Wilson County school board is moving forward with plans to offer a course on the Bible to high school students.

Monday the school board will chose a curriculum for that elective class. One of the ideas is to use the Bible as the sole textbook.

The curriculum has been criticized by some biblical scholars and First Amendment experts. They believe it endorses, and promotes the Bible as the truth, and perpetuates factual errors.

The ACLU filed a lawsuit regarding the proposed class, saying Wilson County schools cannot endorse one religion without recognizing all of them.
