Man Sues Police For Seizing Frozen Cat Bodies From His Freezer

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- A man charged with animal cruelty three years ago is suing authorities.

William Terry Davis was charged after authorities found the frozen carcasses of 114 cats in freezers at his home.

Police confiscated the bodies as well as 39 live cats, five snakes and a dog from Davis' two homes in the Murfreesboro area.

Thirty-one of the live cats were in such poor health they were euthanized.

The 74-year-old Davis said he suffered emotional pain after his animals were taken.

He said he planned to bury the dead cats in a pet cemetery at his farm in the Christiana community. He also says one of the cats was so large at birth he intended to submit it to the Guinness Book of Records.

Davis was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days of probation for animal cruelty.
