Originally from a small town in Western Kentucky, Brent has called Tennessee home for the past 15 years. After graduating from Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tennessee with a degree in public relations and radio & television production, Brent moved to Nashville and began his career in print media. He spent several years working for national and regional magazines in both the editorial and design/production departments. Brent currently works in the external relations office at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College of education and human development. He is the former editor & creative director for Out & About Newspaper, Tennessee's largest GLBT newspaper and accompanying Web site.
Brent has been active in the Nashville community since 2000 serving as a member of the Nashville Pride board, president of the Nashville Chapter of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, member of the Nashville GLBT Chamber of Commerce, member of the Frist Center's Marketing Council and board member of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee's H. Franklin Brooks Philanthropic Fund, in addition to other community and civic organizations. Brent relishes his involvement with O&A Today and would like to thank his partner Allen for his continued support and encouragement in all his endeavors.
