NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The name atop Tennessee's tallest building was removed Monday.
The BellSouth Building was the regional headquarters for the telephone giant. In December, AT&T acquired BellSouth. The company will replace the letters with AT&T's globe logo.
Local residents sometimes call it the "Batman Building" because its spires and dark colors resemble the mask worn by the fictitious crime fighter.
The building, which is on Commerce Street in downtown Nashville, is the state's tallest building.
Two of NewsChannel 5's three popular SkyCam cameras are located on the building's spires.
