Wolf Creek Dam Water Levels Will Rise

JAMESTOWN, Ky. - In Summer 2008, the waters will rise behind the troubled Wolf Creek Dam.

Kentucky Congressman Hal Rogers said water levels on Lake Cumberland could go up as much as 10 feet to ease the strain on local businesses.

Earlier in 2007, engineers said the dam was in danger of failing.

The Army Corps of Engineers lowered the water line by 43 feet in 2007 to ease pressure on the leaking dam.

Officials said raising the water level won't hurt the dam and repairs are on track.
