LAS VEGAS - The Tennessee Titans and the NFL face a major lawsuit all because of suspended cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones.

In February, Jones was at a strip club in Las Vegas where a melee and shooting occurred. Three people were hit including a manager/bouncer who is now paralyzed. Jones faces felony charges in connection with the incident.

The gunman hasn't been arrested.

Tommy Urbanski, who once worked at the Minxx Gentlemen's Club and Lounge, will file a lawsuit Thursday indicating that Jones isn't the only one to blame for his paralysis.

Urbanski contends that the NFL and Jones' team failed to reprimand Jones for previous actions, spanning a few years.

"The writing was on the wall because this guy already had problems in college," Urbanski said. "It wasn't like they didn't know this guy was a bad apple. Nobody turns a blind eye that much. They are more worried about putting people in the seats."

Since joining the team Jones has been named in at least 10 police reports and arrested five times.

In February, Jones and his friends were at the club. Urbanski claims that Jones gave one of his friends a directive that altered Urbanski's life.

The lawsuit alleges that the NFL commissioner waited too long to reprimand Jones until after the February shooting.

It says the league and the Titans had the authority and duty to discipline Jones for off-the-field conduct and did nothing to avoid or prevent the harm he would allegedly later cause. By not doing so, they condoned repetition of such actions and activities.

Urbanski said he d be walking if it wasn't for the NFL and the Titans as well as Jones.

"Let's say they would have suspended him for those 10 prior incidences before Tommy ended up in a wheelchair. Tommy probably would have never heard of Adam ‘Pacman' Jones and we would have probably never heard of Tommy Urbanski," said Matthew Dushoff, Urbanski's attorney.

"Bernard Jones didn't come in that night. It was Adam ‘Pacman' Jones the NFL star who came in that night," Urbanski said. "It was the Titans football star. They were pumping him money and pumping him with fame and not controlling his actions on or off the football field.  They made this animal. They contributed in a big way."

The Urbanskis have not asked for a specific dollar amount for compensation.  However, they said they hope for enough to cover the expensive medical treatments Tommy Urbanski will need for the rest of his life.

Representatives from the Tennessee Titans and Jones' legal team declined comment since they have not seen the lawsuit. Representatives with the NFL did not return phone calls from NewsChannel 5.

In addition to this civil case, Jones also faces two other civil suits and criminal felony charges in connection with the incident.
