Wolf Creek Dam
JAMESTOWN, Ky.- Kentucky will install 16 weather sirens in four counties that lay below the troubled Wolf Creek Dam. The sirens will be in place to notify people in case of dam failure.
The sirens will be in Cumberland, Clinton, Monroe and Russell counties. It's all to notify people there in case of a dam failure. The structure holds back Lake Cumberland, and is undergoing repairs by the Army Corps of Engineers.
The sirens are designed to be heard up to four miles away. The devices will also be used during times of severe weather and other emergencies.
