LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Oral arguments before Kentucky's Supreme Court can now be seen live on the Internet.
The high court started Webcasting oral arguments Wednesday through a site called Supreme Court Live. Kentucky is now one of at least 16 other states using the technology.
Chief Justice Joseph Lambert said the broadcasts give every citizen access to the proceedings.
The court had studied the idea for years, but didn't have the technology in place.
The Kentucky justices took on a high profile murder case for the first arguments broadcast online.
The U.S. Supreme Court doesn't webcast and doesn't allow cameras in the courtrooms. But the justices sometimes release audio recordings of oral arguments.
