LANCASTER, Tenn. - If the aging Center Hill Dam were to break hundreds of midstate homes would end up underwater. So why aren't those living downstream allowed to see the flood maps?
The Army Corps of Engineers said they aren't publishing those flood maps because of homeland security concerns, but Wilson County Emergency Management presented the maps to the public at a county commission meeting.
Authorities said they're also working on developing a plan to deal with a dam breach.
There were similar problems with flood maps for the Wolf Creek Dam in Kentucky.
