NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Lipscomb University will hold its annual Lighting of the Green Tuesday night.
Singer Amy Grant will be joined by Pat Flynn and Buddy Greene for a "Christmas Jam" to celebrate the start of the holiday season. Grant will also perform with the David Lipscomb Campus School chorus and Lipscomb University choral ensembles.
Events begin a 4:30 p.m. at Lipscomb's Allen Bell Tower, just outside Allen Arena on the Green Hills campus. Click HERE for more information.
NewsChannel 5 meteorologist Lelan Statom will serve as master of ceremonies.
The university will accept jars of peanut butter at the "Christmas Jam." The food will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
Free food from Chick-Fil-A and Blue Coast will be provided. Santa Claus will also be on hand for free photos.
The free event will culminate with the lighting of Lipscomb's Christmas Tree. (See a picture of the tree.)
