
The first one, honoring Oklahoma, will feature the state bird, the scissortail flycatcher and the state wildflower, the Indian blanket.
The other four will follow in 10-week intervals.
New Mexico will be represented by a (Zia) sun symbol. Arizona by the Grand Canyon and a (saguaro) cactus. Alaska's has a grizzly bear wading in a stream with a salmon in its mouth. Hawaii, the final state to enter the union, is the latest to be honored with a coin. It will bear the image of a former monarch (King Kamehameha).
Based on a 2005 survey, U.S. Mint officials estimate 147 million people have gotten involved in collecting the quarters with their constantly changing designs. It's the most successful coin program in U.S. history.
