GALLATIN, Tenn.- People in Sumner County celebrated the holidays Saturday morning by going out to the annual Christmas parades.

The theme for this year's parade in Gallatin was "Christmas Through the Decades." There were over 130-entires for themes including, "The Birth of Christ," "Christmas During the Civil War," and "Hairstyles Through the Decades."

The parade was hosted by News Channel 5's Lelan Statom, and this year's Grand Marshal was retired teacher George Offitt.

The parade finished with a festival at Gallatin High School and pictures with Santa.

Parade goers were also out in Goodlettsville for the Lights Fantastic Christmas Parade.

This year, there were two very special Grand Marshals: Country artist Dena Carter and actor James Denton. Carter lives in California, but grew up in Goodlettsville. After the parade, the community Christmas tree was lit at City Hall.
