NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Two fleeing robbery suspects were captured on the grounds of the Police Training Academy Thursday afternoon.

Jamar Donnell Parker and Aaron Donte Evans, Jr., both 19, were charged with robbing a woman at gunpoint in a bank parking lot on Rosa L. Parks Boulevard.

Metro police said Evans and Parker fled in a car just after 12 p.m.

Within an hour, a police sergeant saw the pair fire shots at a passing car near the training academy.

Joe Peters was the driver of that passing car.

"They sped around beside me, pulled out their weapon, shot once, and they both stop," he said. "I'm behind them they pull back, show the weapon and shoot me again.  Shoot at me again, I suppose.  I take off through the intersection."

When the sergeant turned on his vehicle's blue lights, Evans and Parker abandoned the car and fled on foot before they were captured by officers in a wooded area.

They are being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Additional charges are pending, according to Metro police.
