Home Invasions Keep Police Busy Overnight

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Home invasions plagued North and South Nashville homes overnight.

The first home invasion happened at a home off McKinnie Avenue where police said four men entered through the opened front door and ransacked the house.

The victim was able to grab his hand gun and fire several shots before the suspects fled.

Police thought some of the men drove off in a car, while others may have made their getaway on foot.

A K-9 unit on the scene did pick up a scent but was not able to track the suspects.

The victim was not able to give police a good description of any of the suspects.

Emergency officials took the victim to Saint Thomas Hospital.  Police said the invasion aggravated a pre-existing back injury.

Then, just hours later, police were called to a home on Berry Road around 1:30 a.m.

Officials said a man and a woman knocked on the door and forced their way in when the homeowner answered.

The intruders roughed up the homeowner.  He was left with several scrapes and bruises.

The suspects ransacked that home and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police do not believe the two invasions are related.
