A storm relief fund has been established by NewsChannel 5 and Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
A strong line of thunderstorms struck parts of Tennessee and Kentucky Thursday night and Friday morning. Tennessee declared a state of emergency following reports of tornadoes and severe weather affecting portions of the state.
The fund was established in the wake of severe storms that ripped across the state in early February. The super-cell thunderstorms developed into tornadoes in several locations.
The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, based in Green Hills, raises money in support of charitable organizations throughout the region.
Donations to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund will be distributed to the local relief agencies that need it the most.
