SMITHVILLE, Tenn. - State Rep. Rob Briley spent Valentine's morning in a Dekalb County courtroom.
In court Briley waived his right to a trail by jury, and he pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and property damage.
Authorities dropped Briley's other two charges of non immediate notification of an accident and following to close.
In September 2007, police officers said Briley took them on a chase that went up to 100 miles an hour. A video of his arrest showed him yelling at officers and breaking down.
Due to his incident, Briley stepped down from his committee chairmanship, but he remains a member of the Tennessee Legislature.
