Preds Forward David Legwand Charged With DUI

Posted:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Nashville Predators forward David Legwand is scheduled to appear in court next month after being charged with driving under the influence.

Legwand, who signed a six-year deal for $27 million in December, was pulled over near downtown on Feb. 15 after a police officer clocked him at 51 mph in a 35-mph zone in his 2006 Range Rover.

Police reports said the officer noticed Legwand's eyes were bloodshot, his speech slurred and he smelled of alcohol after he said he attended a concert. Legwand refused a breath test and was charged with driving under the influence.

Legwand ranks fourth on the Predators in scoring. He has played in all five games since his arrest.
