CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - An unusual accident on a Montgomery County farm leaves a community in mourning.

The Rev. Liston Richardson, 76, died while trying to take care of one of his goats.

Bobby Richardson said his father suffered a heart attack as he tried to return the animal to its pen.

It's believed the minister bumped his head as he wrestled with the goat Tuesday morning.

Richardson was the pastor at Sunnyview Missionary Baptist Church for 30 years.

"Nobody saw what happened but the lead line he had around the goat got wrapped around his foot. We are guessing that he tripped and fell," Richardson said.

Richardson believes the struggle took a toll on his father's weak heart.

Edna Pain said she will miss Richardson.

"He was such a good man," she said.

Sykes Funeral Home in Clarksville is handling the arrangements.

The goat that contributed to Richardson's death was shot and killed. The family plans to give the rest of the animals away.
