COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - There was a shocking case of animal abuse out of Putnam County Thursday morning.
Police charged John Huddleston with animal cruelty after a sheriff's deputy discovered a pile of dead horses in Huddleston's field.
The sheriff's deputy also discovered dozens of other animals living in deplorable conditions.
There was also a number of surviving animals, which included horses, pigs, dogs, and chickens. All the living animals were severely malnourished.
Huddleston allegedly told the deputy he couldn't afford to feed the animals, and the horses just got sick and died.
