NASHVILLE, Tenn. - TDOT decided to bring safer guardrails to the midstate.
TDOT has new cable barriers that will be installed on a two-mile stretch on I-40 near Fairview.
The guardrail consists of three cables stretched along a string of metal metals posts.
The design is suppose to prevent head-on collisions by catching the car like a spider web.
The guardrails will be installed in areas where accidents are frequent.
