COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - A Putnam County man who allowed his horses to starve to death has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.
John Huddleston was sentenced to probation and 200 hours of community service at an animal shelter. He also has to donate $ 500 to the animal shelter.
Back in April 2008, investigators discovered a pile of dead animals in a pasture and more than a dozen others being kept in inhumane conditions. Huddleston told deputies he couldn't afford to feed the animals.
