
37-year-old Lisa M. Baxter from Hampshire, TN was arrested for identity theft and forgery.FRANKLIN, Tenn. - A title loan employee has been arrested for identity theft after police said she issued fake loans to clients and pocketed the money.
Officials said 37-year-old Lisa M. Baxter was an employee at a title and loan company in Franklin. She reportedly created bogus loans and checks, and assigned them to existing customer accounts.
According to Major Crimes Unit Detectives with the Franklin police, Baxter embezzled more than $1,000.
The Hampshire, Tenn., woman had apparently been arrested in Maury County for similar charges, and was on probation.
Baxter was booked into the Williamson County Jail for identity theft, forgery and theft over $1,000. She was later released on a bond of $8,000.
