NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Protesters gathered in front of the Nashville convention center Saturday evening because of the speaker at this year's Statesmen Dinner.
Former White House adviser Karl Rove was the featured guest at the annual fundraiser. Protesters held signs and lined up along the street in front of the Convention Center.
The dinner also drew some criticism among some politicians because it barred news media.
A GOP spokesman said the dinner is no different than other political fundraisers, which he claims are not open to the public. But strangely enough, the media was allowed to cover last year's dinner.
