Former Titan Puts Down Football Helmet For Firefighter's Helmet

Posted:

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - A former Tennessee Titan has put down the football and picked up firefighting.

Former tight end Erron Kinney has become a firefighter with the Brentwood Fire Department.

Kinney took an oath of office and got his badge Monday night.

The former Titan has been involved with fire safety since he was a teenager.

In 2004, Gov. Phil Bredesen appointed Kinney to a seven year term with the Tennessee State Firefighting Commission, which tests and certifies state firefighters.
