NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Those drivers, who weren't lucky enough to find gas over the weekend, will have to do some searching Monday in order to fill up.
With gas pumps covered by plastic bags and seemingly no end in sight, the gas shortage continued to cause frustrations Monday morning. Even worse, it looks like the situation might not be getting better for a little while, at least.
According to AAA, middle Tennessee's gas shortage will continue for the next few days. It's estimated more than half of Nashville gas stations were out of gas Monday morning.
Those who have been able to find gas probably paid record high prices. Monday morning, a gallon of regular unleaded in the midstate cost about $4.08.
There are some things you can do to stretch that tank of gas. Make sure your tires are all properly inflated. Be sure to check your air filter, and make sure it's clean. Of course, slow down to increase your MPG's. Also, clean out that junk in your trunk. Extra weight can zap gas mileage.
Finding gas right now is difficult, so NewsChannel 5 is asking its viewers to help each other out. If you know of a gas station that has gas post the name, location and city of that station in the TalkBack: Post a comment forum directly below.
