Lakeisha White
Sgt. Ron Killings
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - It has been three months to the day since a crash involving a Rutherford County sheriff's deputy killed an 11-year-old girl, and Friday morning, the investigation into Lakeisha White's death was making progress.
Special District Attorney Joe Baugh said he's still interviewing witnesses to the deadly crash, but he has finished reviewing the file given to him by Murfreesboro police.
In July, Sgt. Ron Killings hit and killed White as she crossed the street. Witnesses said after the accident Killing tried to get rid of two bottles of pre-mixed margaritas. Blood tests performed on Killings two-and-a-half hours after the crash came back negative for drugs and alcohol.
