Billy Ray, Miley Cyrus Visit Children's Hospital

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus visited a children's hospital in Nashville Tuesday with his daughter, Miley, also known for her pop-star alter ego, Hannah Montana.

The pair visited children and their families at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The pop sensation stars in a Disney television series, "Hannah Montana," which also features her real-life and TV father.

"Me and Jacob watch the show every day," said one young fan, adding that he enjoyed meeting the entertainers. IT was worth it, the lines and everything."

Billy Ray Cyrus toured the hospital's pediatric program and met child patients at the Vanderbilt Eskind Diabetes Clinic.He also presented a check from the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a national group that supports the pediatric diabetes program at Vanderbilt.

He and his daughter attended a meet-and-greet event with patients and families.

In 1992, Billy Ray Cyrus made it big on the country and pop music charts with his hit "Achy, Breaky Heart." He grew up in Kentucky.

Earlier this year, they hosted the 2008 CMT Music Awards. The seventh annual show, held at Nashville's Belmont University, featured performances from artists such as Alan Jackson, Toby Keith and Brad Paisley. They also spent much of the spring and summer this year working on a film based on the series. It was shot in California and Tennessee.
