MADISON, Tenn. - Recreational vehicle dealers will bring in extra crash as they rent out campers for the four-day Bonnaroo music festival.
Camper's Corner owner Raymond Brody said the Bonnaroo organizers want him to provide more than 100 RVs for their staff and other guests.
"I had so many people saying,' there's no way, how are you going to come up with 100 units?' And I thought, and came up with this idea," said Brody.
Brody planned to ask people to bring in their own RVs, pay them cash to borrow it, and then rent it out for the music festival.
"The day you bring it to me I'm going to hand you a check for $750 to a $1000," said Brody.
Guy Land said he planned to give up his motor home for Bonnaroo week.
"It gives us pause to think about other people using our motor home, but it's simply sitting in storage right now," said Land.
While Brody admitted Bonnaroo gave him the idea of renting out other people's RVs, he knows now it's a concept that can work year-round.
"This is an excellent opportunity for Camper's Corner because as the RV industry struggles, we're given the opportunity with Access and Superfly to generate revenue," said Brody.
RV owners said that is smart business, and it may keep business moving for Camper's Corner once Bonaroo is over.
"Going forward, it's going to be about who's got the better idea, and what thing can they do to be better than the other guy, and if he's willing to step out on a limb with programs like this, he's going to get business. He got mine," said Land.
The Festival takes place in Manchester from June 11th through the 14th.
